Orientation/PREVIEW Mission

Old Dominion University's Orientation/PREVIEW is designed to provide incoming, undergraduate students with continuing services and assistance to aid their transition into the institution. Orientation/PREVIEW will expose students to the broad educational opportunities available and integrate them into campus life. In addition, Orientation/PREVIEW will familiarize students and their families with the campus, its staff, and resources, and share with them the expectations that Old Dominion University's faculty and administrators have of them. Orientation/PREVIEW is also designed to foster social development, through peer interaction and structured activities that will develop positive relationships. The program strives to inform students and families of academic policies, procedures and requirements and complete placement testing, advising and registration for classes. Old Dominion University's Orientation program gives incoming students and their families an accurate view of the campus and its culture, and welcomes them into the Old Dominion University family.
